We are the Woodland Beaver colony, one of two beaver colony's at 1st chase Terrace Scout group. we meet on a Friday evening. Beaver Scouts are the youngest section in the scouting Family, usually providing for boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 8. Though they can be as young as 5 3/4, this would be at the Beaver Scout Leader's discretion (for example, to allow someone a little bit younger to join at the same time as their friends). The beavers are looked after by a group of (mostly) responsible adult volunteers, each given a name taken from the woodland (see what we did there?) including Blue jay, Squirrel, Buzzard and there's even a Skunk! to name but a few.
What do we do?
The Beaver Scout activities are based around making things, outdoor activities, singing, playing games, going out on visits, investigating nature, listening to stories, learning how to be safe and most importantly, making new friends.
One of our beavers get to grips with tackling the climbing wall.
A group of our beavers are getting ready to present woodlands Christmas Carol Concert.
